One course offered this year will be Business Ownership. We will study the numerous aspects of owning your own business and the steps involved to conduct a successful venture. Students will be required to design a business of interest to them to work with during the course. Areas that will be covered will include financial planning, layout of the business, clerical work and actual meeting scenarios. Students will be accountable for the presentation of their business at the end of the course.
Another course offered this year will include Accounting 1. This area of study will consist of basic accounting procedures and concepts. Students will create worksheets, balance sheets, and adjustments on a weekly basis. This course is also designed to help new business owners understand the financial challenges that can occur while starting a business for the first time.
A course not considered in the Business area but closely related to business is the Bio Engineering course. Students will have hands on experience in the field of fish and plant farming. Each day will bring exciting research and experimentation. Students will focus on each aspect of the operation to produce a final project based on information used throughout the course. Our facility has three hydroponic growing units as well as two fish tanks. One is 400 gallons and the other 75. Stop by for the latest up to date photos.
