Read Kiddo Read!
Parents, teachers, and librarians, check out ReadKiddoRead.com and take your kid’s reading future into your own hands. Something told you the only way to get kids to read was to give them great books, cool books, books they would absolutely, positively love. I believe that we’ve gathered the crème de la crème of such reading right here. These are very, very special books that kids will gobble up and ask for more. If your kids get a few of these under their belts they’ll be well on their way to becoming readers for life. I promise you. –James Patterson |

Parents are from Mars, Teachers are from Venus
PARENTS FROM MARS, TEACHERS FROM VENUS
http://snipurl.com/bf-mars-encarta
This popular essay by sixth grade teacher Bill Ferriter originally appeared at the Education Week website and has now been included among the education resources offered by the MSN Encarta knowledge base. Ferriter begins with a tongue-in-cheek proposal to "make a mint" by explaining the complex relationship between parents and teachers. "I've never met a teacher who hasn't been mystified by the actions of a parent at least once a year, and I'm pretty sure that parents can say the same about teachers. Let's face it: We're two of the most complicated groups of people to understand -- and for $29.95, I'm willing to be your guide!" Bulging tongue-in-cheek aside, both parents and teachers will find excellent pointers here. |
