FOUTH GRADE WEEKLY HOMEWORK

SPELLING

10 minutes         Monday – 3x each for all spelling words

15 minutes         Tuesday – ABC order and syllable count

10 minutes         Wednesday – Sentences

·        Copy cursive sentences that include spelling words

·        Students write five more sentences using content words

10 minutes         Thursday – Teacher’s choice … see your homeroom teacher

READING AND WRITING HOMEWORK

20 minutes        Read 20 minutes three nights a week for the first two quarters. For quarters 3 & 4, students will read 25 minutes 3 times a week.

15 minutes         Once a week students will write a journal entry about an independent reading book that is being read at home.

20 minutes                Once a week students will complete a reading comprehension

         worksheet.

MATH

15 minutes         Two nights a week, complete a math homework assignment.  Study

guides will be assigned with each unit.

SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES

15 minutes         Homework will depend on the subject and studying for upcoming tests.
