Parachute Parachute
The parachute is a lot of fun and our students love it! We learn about the three different grips (overhand, underhand, and cross over) and all the different ways we can manipulate the parachute as a class. We had fun making ripples and waves and don't forget about the hurricane! We made tents, scaled the mountain, and all froze in our igloo. Students work together to move under, over, and around the parachute.
Objectives 1. psychomotor: Students will be able to hold the parachute at least two different ways and be able to make ripples and waves. Students will also be able to move the parachute at different levels, speeds, and by using different locomotor movements. 2. Cognitive: Students will be able to describe the different hand grips and how to make ripples and waves. Students will be able to explain how to make a tent and an igloo. 3. Affective: Students will be able to work cooperatively as a class and demonstrate self control.
Assessment: This unit is assessed through teacher observation. We are looking for participation and self control with the parachute. Photos: Click on this link to see photos of our unit!
