VOLLEYBALL

Our students enjoyed our volleyball unit! In the past our Midlakes volleyball coach and team came to help our students, but this year we only had visits from Mr. Cube and Ollie the Octopus. These two helped implement game like situations and incorporate teamwork and cooperation.  learn the basic skills of volleyball.  We learned how to set, forearm pass, and spike the ball.  By the end of the unit we were playing keep it up with Ollie and Mr. Cube!

Unit Objectives:

psychomotor: Students will be able to demonstrate the basic skills of setting, spiking, and forearm passing.

Cognitive: Students will be able to describe what setting hands look like and explain how many hands you spike, set, or forearm pass with.

Affective: Students will be able to work cooperatively in a group setting or with a partner.  They will display sportsmanship and great character.

Assessment:

Our students were assessed through teacher question and answer to check for understanding. Teacher observation was used for assessing skills.   They are also given a daily grade that is a culmination of sportsmanship, participation, and safety awareness.
