Yoga Yoga
Our students had a great time working in our yoga unit. They jumped at the chance to assume the role of a variety of animals, trees, flower, warriors and other enjoyable poses. This unit helped students work toward enhancing their flexibility, balance, strength, coordination and body awareness.
Unit Objectives
1. Psychomotor: Students will be able to position their body in a variety of yoga poses the correct way.
2. Cognitive: Students will be able to explain how yoga can help our bodies. - Balance - Flexibility - Muscle Strength - Relax Students will be able to identify yoga poses by their appropriate names. 3. Affective: Students will be able to work independently and in small groups using appropriate classroom behavior to accomplish the poses successfully.
Assessment Through out this unit we will give a daily grade based on the student participation, behavior and attitude. Students will also be asked to demonstrate a small variety of poses and complete a work sheet that requires them to match yoga poses to the correct names.
