Mrs. Saliceti's First Grade Reading Resources

You will find some resources in this section that are used both in the first grade classrooms, as well as the reading room.  These can be powerful tools when reading with your child at home.  Reading and rereading familiar texts helps to build early literacy skills, such as one-to-one correspondence, recognition of high frequency (word wall) words and will strengthen your child's use of reading strategies.  Discussing texts with your child will help them to develop comprehension skills that will be necessary as texts become more difficult.
