Please check your child's agenda every night to see what he/she has for homework.

Below are the things you can expect to see from your child EVERY week:

Spelling - Students are asked to do one page of the "packet" each day (4 pages total).  Monday = sentences, Tuesday = syllables two times, Wednesday = boxes two times, and Thursday = alphabetical order two times.  What is not finished must be done for homework.  Students are also told that they should be studying a little bit each night for the test on Friday.  Spelling lists can be found on the home page.

Vocabulary -  Each day student learn a new vocabulary word (Monday-Thursday).  As a class, we figure out what the word means, its part of speech, synonyms, antonyms, and create a sentence using the word (that really explains the word).  There is a vocabulary test every other Friday.  On the test they are responsible for all word since the beginning of the year.

Reading - Students are required to read a minimum of 20 minutes each day. Also, once a month, students will be required to read a book from a specific genre and creat a different project each month on it.  This project will always be due the last Friday of the month.  As the year goes on, students may also have homework that requires them to respond to what they have read.

Math - Regardless of the teacher your child has for math, he/she will have math homework just about every night.  Most days, it will be just 2 or 3 problems.
