Nearly 30 students in grades 3-8 competed in the district’s annual Spelling Bee competition held Thursday, January 17 at the Midlakes High School Auditorium. Justin Nealey, a sixth-grader, won the 13-round competition. Sixth-grader DJ Wing came in second place and Nicole Szalay finished in third. Nealey and Wing will compete in the regional contest held in March at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
