Sixth-grader Romeo Castellano was the star of two assemblies on kindness at Midlakes Elementary School. The assemblies reminded K-6 students that being kind is about rising above expectations by:
- Being polite
- Smiling at someone
- Including others
- Taking turns
- Giving a helping hand
- Giving someone a compliment
- Asking someone, "How are you doing?"
- Taking responsibility for your actions and say, "Sorry."
- Treating others the way you want to be treated.
Romeo took center stage by singing "Count on Me" by Bruno Mars. He was joined by many other students during the song. Some staff and faculty were moved to tears.
