Chris McAfee, the Midlakes Middle School band director, visited the annual International Society for Music Education seminars in Montreal in July.

He presented on his paper, An Analysis of Creative Activities in Instrumental Music Ensembles: Educator Perspectives, Practices, and Barriers and presented on his published work, Quantum Learning: Degrees of Formality in Music Learning Facilitation.

“It has been a very fun summer full of bringing these pieces that have been in in the works for the past few years to the world, but it has also been a summer full of generation and making new connections so stay tuned for even more exciting projects coming soon,” McAfee said.

He has also had two more studies published: “An Analysis of Creative Activities in Instrumental Music Ensembles: Educator Perspectives, Practices, and Barriers” (International Journal of Music Education, July 12) and  Quantum Degrees of Formalities in Popular Music Education (Journal of Popular Music Education, Aug. 2).
