Buildings & Grounds
Welcome to the Buildings and Grounds Department! We work diligently to keep the Midlakes campus looking beautiful while working hard to landscape, clean, repair, and maintain the facilities and grounds to support student learning in a safe environment. For more information, contact Don Miller, Director of Facilities, at (315) 548-6465, or email@example.com.
The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District, as required by federal regulations, has a comprehensive management plan for the removal or containment of any asbestos-containing materials within the district. This plan is on file with the District Office, 1490 Route 488, Clifton Springs, and is available for public inspection.
In May 2010, New York State enacted Chapter 85 of the Laws of 2010, a new law containing limitations regarding pesticide use on playgrounds and athletic or playing fields at schools and daycare centers. The prohibition does not apply to the indoor use of pesticides or pesticide applications to buildings or structures. Under Chapter 85, new requirements were added to the State Education Law (SEL) and the Social Services Law (SSL). The State Education Department (SED) is responsible for administering the sections added by Chapter 85, and the State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) is responsible for administering the new sections of the SSL. As required, the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has developed guidance in consultation with the State Department of Health (State DOH) and the State Education Department. Guidelines are available and intended to help schools and daycare centers comply with the new law by providing information on its requirements and on allowable alternatives to pesticides for grounds maintenance.
