Public Comments: Emergency Response Planning
The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District is committed to the safety and preparedness of its students, staff and visitors. Our District-Wide School Safety Plan is a comprehensive approach to crisis management and focuses on mitigation/prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery procedures.
The New York State Education Department is requiring all schools to update their District-Wide Emergency Response Plan/Safety Plan with a new procedure. This procedure is to cover an emergency created by a "Communicable Disease Event." The District has drafted this procedure and is sharing it with the public for comment as required by this new regulation.
The public comment period is now open on the draft proposal of the Public Health Emergency Communicable Disease Protocols. The 30-day comment period began on Wednesday, Feb. 25 2021, and will close on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Written comments may be submitted below using the online chat fields.
Public Hearing: March 15
A Public Hearing on the draft proposal of the Public Health Emergency Communicable Disease Protocols will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 6 p.m. via a Zoom video conference. The public hearing and the regular meeting of the Board of Education (starting at 6:30 p.m.) may be viewed by watching a live stream on Midlakes.org and at Midlakes Schools Facebook page.
