From Midlakes Athletic Director John Lombardi:

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Girl’s JV and Varsity teams volunteered their time to help the Phelps community celebrate its annual tree lighting ceremony. Phelps Hometown Christmas would not have been the success that it was without the girls. I have never had so many volunteers to help and their presence was truly appreciated.

The girls spread out throughout the Phelps Community Center doing various jobs. Some were dressed in aprons ready to assist in the decorating of Christmas cookies. They also handed out 200 COOKIES! Well, Cara Walker admitted to eating at least 4…so technically it was 196 cookies ... lol.

Some of the girls displayed their artistic talents by helping to create many reindeer and Santa heads. Others helped Santa by handing out candy canes and getting pictures for the family’s waiting. Some of the girls acted as greeters and helped present cakes for the cake auction.

I am so thankful for the help from the girls and also Coach Liz. Top notch girls that represented their team and their school to the fullest! #MidlakesPride
