The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District, under guidance from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association and other agencies, anticipates a return of fall sports.
While Gov. Andrew Cuomo recently announced certain low- and moderate-risk sports may begin practicing on September 21 the District awaits for additional guidance and protocols on the safe return of athletic competition from the NYSPHAA, Section V, state and local Departments of Health and other agencies.
"Those guidelines will help school districts to safely begin athletic practices and competitions," said John Lombardi, Midlakes school athletic director. "Once we have this information, we will relay the information to our student-athletes, families, and coaches on how to sign-up for participation."
Schools must follow state guidelines for the conduct of their athletic programs.
Meanwhile, student-athletes are encouraged to remain active and safe, wash hands frequently, main a safe social distance, and wear a mask. For more information, families may contact Lombardi at email@example.com or call (585) 548-6450.
