Important reminder of immunizations, sports physicals
Every student entering sixth grade must provide proof of receiving two doses of Varicella (chicken pox) immunization as well as an updated Pertussis (whooping cough/tDap) immunization. Seventh graders must have proof of receiving the Meningococcal vaccine.
Proof of immunizations may be obtained by a child’s physician and should be forwarded to a school nurse by the start of the new school year. Other immunizations are recommended but optional for school-aged children.
Also, physicals are required for students entering Pre-K, kindergarten, first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth and 11th grade. Students new to the district and those playing a sport need a current physical exam, too.
