A Midlakes student has been recognized by the Wayne-Finger Lakes Career and Technical Center for outstanding work at the Stanley campus.
Junior Graham Mess was presented a Top of the Trade certificate during a recent reception with other students for his work in the center’s Farm to Table Sustainable Academy.
"It’s just like being on a farm," said Mess, who attends the afternoon sessions at the center. "There’s always plenty of stuff to do."
Students in the program learn about how to grow crops and care for livestock in a sustainable manner while working in an interdisciplinary way with such programs as animal sciences, culinary arts, carpentry conservation and more.
Roughly 300 students attend afternoon programs at the center, along with Mess. Less than 25 of them are recognized with Top of the Trade honors.
