The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District Board of Education has appointed Jacob Amidon to fill a vacancy on the board.
Amidon’s appointment was approved during the Board of Education’s August 19 meeting. He is filling the seat left vacant by Jessica Meissner, who was elected in May 2019 but has since moved out of the district. Amidon’s appointment will run through May 19, 2020, when district residents will be able to vote on a candidate to serve the final two years of the term.
The Board decided to appoint Amidon rather than hold a special election. Amidon previously served on the Board of Education, from July 2016 to May 2019.
