Sophomore Wins Wrestling Title

Midlakes sophomore Teddy Raes won the Class B1 Wrestling Championship with a 4-1 decision over Jazz Spaulding of Honeoye Falls-Lima during the 99-pound sectional final at Wayne High School.

Overall, Midlakes finished fourth during the 2020 event. Other highlights by the Screaming Eagles included:

  • Junior Luke Garver finished in fourth in the 106-pound division.
  • Junior Chase Peacock took second at 113 pounds.
  • Junior Eric Peck-Elzey was fifth at 126 pounds.
  • Sophomore Ryan Peck-Elzey's placed third at 132 pounds.
  • Junior Preston Cooper finished 4th at 160 pounds.
  • Senior Curtis Grimes, who lost a 5-4 decision, placed second in the 182-pound division.

  • Senior Matt Raes (138 pounds)
  • Freshman John DeBoover (145 pounds)
