Rotary Donates School Supplies

The Clifton Springs Rotary Club has led a list of local donors that will put school supplies into the hands of students at the start of the new school year.

Pens, pencils, highlighters, paper, and other items deemed necessary by teachers have been collected, sorted, bagged, and made available to students through Rotary’s efforts, which first began 12 years ago by retired Rotarian and teacher Linda Lindner.

Theresa Dorgan, a member of Rotary who helped organize this year’s effort, said the local club received financial assistance from a variety of local foundations, patrons, and several area businesses. A full list of donors, she said, will be announced at a later date.

"If this is one burden we can help relieve from the families, we are here to help,” she said. “Our community always can be counted on whenever there is a need."

Midlakes staff is working with Rotary to arrange pick-up times for the supplies. Families with questions should reach out to their school building directly. A list of supplies by grade level is available at Midlakes.org.

"The Clifton Springs Rotary Club and those in our school community continue to step-up to support students and families," said Chris Moyer, Midlakes Elementary School principal. "The support is simply overwhelming. We are grateful to be in a community that is so supportive of its schools."
