Midlakes Elementary School librarian Heather Bradley will host a virtual pumpkin-decorating contest for families of students in grades 3-6.
Participants are asked to base their pumpkin design on a character, title or theme related to a book or a series of books. Paper, felt, cloth, markers, paint and other props may be used but pumpkins should be mostly child-produced.
Entries must include a photograph, student’s name, teacher, grade and name of book character and title of the book or series. To be eligible for online voting, entry information and photographs of the pumpkins must be submitted by Tuesday, Oct. 27 to email@example.com.
Students and families will be able to vote online for their favorite entries on Midlakes.org starting Wednesday, Nov. 4. Winners will be announced by Friday, Nov. 6.
Amazon gift cards will be given to those receiving the most votes (top three) and every entry will be given a special certificate.
