OCT. 22, 2021 — Midlakes is recognizing Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 25 to encourage all students to commit to a drug-free lifestyle.
Students in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to win a prize by completing different activities during lunch. Students earning a perfect score on a quiz during lunch could win a laptop, tablet, or headphones. All students are encouraged to dress up on the following days.
The following is a list of activities students are encouraged to participate in during Red Ribbon Week:
Monday, Oct. 25 Rally in Red: Wear Red All students are encouraged to wear red. Students in Grades 7-12 signing a pledge to be drug-free will receive a red ribbon and a ticket for a chance to win a prize. Receive an extra ticket by completing a coloring page for the MS/HS cafeteria.
Tuesday, Oct. 26 Team Up Against Drug; Twin Day/Sock it to Drugs Day Students in Grades 7-12 are encouraged to find a friend and dress the same. Those completing a word search will receive a ticket for a chance to win a prize. Elementary students are encouraged to wear silly socks.
Wednesday, Oct. 27 (No school-Superindent's Conference Day) Wellness Wednesday Take care of your mind and body! Get outside, exercise, read a book, and get some rest.
Thursday, Oct. 28 Follow Dreams, Not Drugs: Wear your PJs to School All students are encouraged to wear their PJs to school. Students in Grades 7-12 can receive a ticket for a chance to win a prize by completing a crossword puzzle.
Friday, Oct. 29 Drugs are Scary: Wear your Halloween Costume to School All students are encouraged to wear a costume to school. Students in Grades 7-12 can receive a ticket to win a prize by telling an adult one thing they learned during Red Ribbon Week.
