Board of Education Selects New Superintendent

SEPT. 8, 2022 — The Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District Board of Education has selected Mr. Nicholas Ganster as its next Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Ganster is scheduled to be appointed during a special Board of Education meeting on Friday, Sept. 9, 2022. 

Mr. Ganster joins the District from the Newark Central School District, where he currently holds the position of High School Principal. Previously, Mr. Ganster served as the High School/Middle School Principal for Marion Central School District, Assistant Principal for Newark Central School District and Chemistry/Physics Instructor at the Clyde-Savannah Central School District.

Throughout his career, Mr. Ganster has sought to instill the values of life-long learning for all students, faculty and staff.

“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Ganster to our Midlakes community,” said Board of Education President Tracy Altman. “During this extensive interview process, the Board worked with different stakeholder groups and survey data to guide our decision-making. Throughout this process, it was clear that the school community was interested in an instructional leader who could foster strong relationships while enhancing opportunities for students and the community. The Board of Education is confident that the experience and dedication Mr. Ganster brings to the position will support and continue to grow our District’s mission and commitment to all students.”

Mr. Ganster will join the Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022.
